Taco, Inc. is a socially responsible organization committed to serving the communities in which we operate. We encourage all of our employees to become active members of society through volunteering.
“Community” may have a different meaning for each and every one of us. Investing in our community through donations, involvement and volunteer efforts are ways in which Taco and you impact and contribute to society and our sustainability.
The Taco/White Family Foundation provides funding to assist community-based, non-profit organizations operating in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts which serve significant social goals. The Foundation’s has five focus areas: Music/Arts, Education, Environment, Healthcare, and Community Service.
Taco’s Volunteer Charitable Grant Program supports charitable organizations where our employees volunteer their time and service. To honor those employees who give their time and service to causes important to them, the Taco/White Family Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations. Employees or employee teams who volunteer a minimum number of hours at a qualified nonprofit can apply for a grant to benefit that organization.
Organizations which have received grants from the Foundation include the URI Graduate School of Oceanography, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Providence Performing Arts Center, National Wildlife Federation, Meeting Street School, Bradley Hospital, The Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor and Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. Organizations which have received grants through Taco’s Volunteer Charitable Grant Program include the University of Rhode Island Master Gardener Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Dream Center of Rhode Island, Girl Scouts of Rhode Island, Lafayette Band of North Kingstown, Virginia Hemophilia Foundation and Southern Rhode Island Volunteers of Wakefield.
